Random Musings 119: Modern Medicine and Extremism

A find a lot of people, especially during the COVID era, who are evangelists of modern Western medicine who dutifully reject any advice about immunity boosting traditional methods. Things like Ayurvedic drinks, and advice about consuming honey, and turmeric is indignantly rejected.

This bewilders me : Why are methods that have literally kept humanity alive through millenia, rejected without due consideration !!?

A lot of these people forget the process of science, especially in areas like biology, which is centuries behind established fields like Physics, and Chemistry. Modern biology, and therefore Western medicine, is mostly based on empirical data. There are no theories (like the Gravitational principles, or Newton's laws of Physics ) that work everywhere. And a lot of these empirical studies have not been conducted for traditional medicine. And this makes sense.. especially considering the financial motivations of people conducting those empirical studies.

But evangelists being evangelists refuse to listen and march on with their partial knowledge, believing that it is The Gospel.

Idiots. Idiots everywhere. 😓
